O acesso \u00e0 carreira bem como seus protocolos devem responder a uma demanda de desburocratiza\u00e7\u00e3o da m\u00e1quina estatal, embora mantendo estritamente a seguran\u00e7a jur\u00eddica imprescind\u00edvel aos documentos p\u00fablicos. A justa reivindica\u00e7\u00e3o de adapta\u00e7\u00e3o e conforma\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s necessidades do mercado de trabalho deve buscar um equil\u00edbrio que alie efic\u00e1cia, efici\u00eancia, presteza, e senso de dever p\u00fablico ao sentido humano mais profundo num \u00e2mbito de atua\u00e7\u00e3o em que o mais privado e o mais p\u00fablico se d\u00e3o a traduzir. Longe de se assentar apenas em traduzir documentos burocr\u00e1ticos e repetitivos, tal como \u00e9 visto de fora esse of\u00edcio, o cotidiano de um Tradutor P\u00fablico se caracteriza pelo contato pr\u00f3ximo com a pessoa humana, seus desejos, sonhos, mazelas e dores, o que exige do profissional uma \u00e9tica sui generis em aprendizagem e aprimoramento constantes. Os princ\u00edpios de zelo, apuro, sigilo, prud\u00eancia, precisam caminhar juntos com a discri\u00e7\u00e3o, a sensibilidade, o respeito, o cuidado e a assist\u00eancia, n\u00e3o raro, emocionais a essas vidas em tradu\u00e7\u00e3o. Considerando-se a diversidade de l\u00ednguas, culturas e sistemas jur\u00eddicos que fundam o trabalho te\u00f3rico e pr\u00e1tico de tradu\u00e7\u00e3o, ser\u00e3o salientadas reflex\u00f5es sobre as fun\u00e7\u00f5es e especificidades dos textos traduzidos no \u00e2mbito da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o oficial, as idiossincrasias pr\u00f3prias ao of\u00edcio, quest\u00f5es de equival\u00eancia e fidelidade, argumenta\u00e7\u00e3o e modos de organiza\u00e7\u00e3o do discurso, narratividades pr\u00f3prias ao of\u00edcio e suas implica\u00e7\u00f5es, bem como a forma\u00e7\u00e3o do tradutor e do int\u00e9rprete, notadamente para aqueles que se destinam ao of\u00edcio p\u00fablico. Voltado para pesquisadores universit\u00e1rios, tradutores e int\u00e9rpretes p\u00fablicos, e tradutores de textos de especialidade, este simp\u00f3sio visa \u00e0 discuss\u00e3o das \u00e1rduas quest\u00f5es que envolvem a pr\u00e1tica da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o e interpreta\u00e7\u00e3o juramentadas. Pr\u00e1tica compreendida como lugar onde a reflex\u00e3o e a experi\u00eancia emergem e se fundem em processo e produto que tomam corpo nos textos e discursos traduzidos. The access to this career as well as its protocols should respond to a demand of reducing bureaucracy of the Government machine, although strictly keeping juridical security essential to public documents. The fair claim to adapting and complying with the needs to the labor market must seek a balance combining efficiency, timeliness and sense of public duty to the deepest human sense in the scope of action where the most private and the most public fields are to be translated. Afar from just translating bureaucratic and repetitive documents, such it is usually seen from outside this trade, the everyday work of the Sworn Translator is featured by the close contact to the human being, his desires, dreams, injuries and pains, which call on the professional to an ethical behavior unique in constant learning and improvement. The principles of zeal, accuracy, secrecy, prudence have to come together with discretion, sensibility, respect, care and \u2014 not rarely emotional\u2014 assistance to such life in translation. Considering the diversity of languages, cultures and legal systems founding the theoretical and practical translation work, reflections on the duties and specificities of translated texts in the scope of certified translation, the idiosyncrasies proper to the trade, issues concerning equivalence and fidelity, argumentation and modes of organization of the discourse, the very narrativities of the field and its implications, as well translator\u2019s and interpreter\u2019s training, notably for those who shall take the path of the sworn translation, shall be highlighted. Oriented to university scholars, sworn translators and interpreters and translators of specialized texts, this symposium aims at discussing the tough issues involving the practice of sworn translation and interpreting. A practice understood as a place where reflection and experience emerge and melt in a process and a product taking shape in translated texts and discourses.
