Muitos dos achados e avan\u00e7os observados no ramo dos estudos descritivos da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o que utilizam as abordagens cognitivas t\u00eam sido aplicados, em maior ou menor medida e com mais ou menos efetividade, \u00e0 forma\u00e7\u00e3o do tradutor, estabelecendo um importante di\u00e1logo, aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o e sinergia entre tais abordagens e a did\u00e1tica da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o. Nas \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas, o avan\u00e7o de recursos tecnol\u00f3gicos disponibilizados para a pesquisa \u2013 como o registro da produ\u00e7\u00e3o do texto-alvo, atrav\u00e9s das ferramentas de keylogging, e o monitoramento da leitura dos textos-fonte e alvo e das buscas de apoio externo na tradu\u00e7\u00e3o, atrav\u00e9s do rastreamento ocular, agregados a diversas outras t\u00e9cnicas e metodologias utilizadas nos estudo dos processos cognitivos da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o \u2013 vem ao encontro do desenvolvimento e populariza\u00e7\u00e3o de diversas ferramentas de tradu\u00e7\u00e3o assistida por computador (CAT tools \u2013 computer-assisted translation tools) e de tradu\u00e7\u00e3o autom\u00e1tica, seja de base em regras (RBMT \u2013 rule-based machine translation), estat\u00edstica (SMT \u2013 statistical machine translation) ou neural (NMT \u2013 neural machine translation). Esse cen\u00e1rio vem expandindo e aprofundando as intera\u00e7\u00f5es humano-computador no contexto profissional da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o e, potencialmente, diversificando e transformando o padr\u00e3o dos processos e procedimentos observados na atividade tradut\u00f3ria, incluindo a pr\u00e9-edi\u00e7\u00e3o, a edi\u00e7\u00e3o e a p\u00f3s-edi\u00e7\u00e3o. Dessa forma, parece pertinente e relevante estudar as intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre o ser humano tradutor e as diferentes interfaces aplicadas na tradu\u00e7\u00e3o profissional, com vistas a refletir sobre o papel do tradutor e outros profissionais nesse novo cen\u00e1rio e repensar aspectos centrais para a forma\u00e7\u00e3o profissional em diferentes contextos, incluindo oficinas e cursos de gradua\u00e7\u00e3o. Assim, este Simp\u00f3sio Tem\u00e1tico acolher\u00e1 propostas de trabalhos que abordem quest\u00f5es relativas aos estudos processuais\/abordagens cognitivas da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o, com enfoque em quest\u00f5es te\u00f3ricas e\/ou metodol\u00f3gicas, podendo destacar as implica\u00e7\u00f5es da intera\u00e7\u00e3o entre as ferramentas tecnol\u00f3gicas dispon\u00edveis para a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o (CAT tools, RBMT, SMT, NMT etc.) e o processo cognitivo do tradutor, al\u00e9m dos impactos para as propostas de forma\u00e7\u00e3o profissional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Palavras-chave:<\/strong> Abordagens cognitivas\/processuais da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o, Metodologias de pesquisa emp\u00edrico-experimental na tradu\u00e7\u00e3o, Intera\u00e7\u00e3o humano-computador na tradu\u00e7\u00e3o<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Abstract:<\/strong> Translation process research (TPR) has decisively contributed to understanding the cognitive processes underlying tasked performed by professional translators, including source text reading, target text production, task monitoring, and lookups. Several findings and advancements in the descriptive translation studies using cognitive approaches have been applied, to a greater or a lesser extent or effectiveness, to the translator training, thereby paving the way to an open dialogue and synergy between such approaches and the translation pedagogy. Over the last decades, translation process research has increasingly made use of technological resources\u2014including keylogging and\/or eye tracking combined with other methods and\/or techniques for monitoring text reading, text writing and lookups\u2014while witnessing the development and popularization of a number of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools and machine translation tools, including rule-based machine translation (RBMT), statistical machine translation (SMT) and neural machine translation (NMT). This ever-changing context has expanded and deepened the human-computer interactions available for translators, while also potentially diversifying and changing patterns in the processes and procedures involved in the translation activity, including pre-editing, editing and post-editing. Therefore, it seems timely, pertinent and relevant to tap into the interactions between the human translator and the different interfaces applied to professional translation at the present time and in the near future, including CAT tools, with a view to reflecting on the role of the translator and other related professionals in this new scenario and rethinking core aspects in the translator training in different settings, including in workshops and undergraduate programs.
